Today I had an interesting day. I felt like I spent more time turning my laptop on and off than actually getting any work done. First it kept disconnecting from the secured network. Next it froze so that I couldn’t even Ctrl+Alt+Delete it! Then kept repeating the above two scenarios. I kept losing everything I was working on. You think that working for a big corporation like that they would at least give us better laptops. Anyway I worked with it(what I could anyway). I am not tech savvy at all and I am really not authorized to do much other than my actual job on it anyway. So 2 hard boots, 8 soft boots, and a million sign ins later I was able to get a few emails out. I don’t really care for days like this because it makes me look pretty bad cause not everyone else is having issues. Oh well it’s over with!
This got me thinking about other things in life I couldn’t fix that I am just “living with”. Well for starters my car is a ford focus and there was recently a class action suit started. There are a lot of issues with the transmissions and they keep telling me it’s normal. Well it isn’t and it causes issues like with your neck and shoulders from all the jerking. I hope they give us new normal (not CVT) transmissions. I ideally I would just love a new car , but we all know that isn’t going to happen. I have had the first gear disk/ clutch changed three times, and they “fixed” the leak in the transmission.
Another thing I can’t fix is the attitudes people have with one another. It really bothers me that when I am hanging out with my indian friends from work that people give me looks. Like for real people! Those guys are the nicest and you can tell they were brought up well. I am lucky to have them and not only colleagues but as friends. This was just one example of what I mean. Let’s face it we are all people and are all different in specific ways. But in every culture they teach respect of some sort. Kills me that it isn’t practiced everyday the it really should be common sense. If you don’t agree with something it’s really okay, but you should still be respectful as others are to you. I think with everything going on in the world today we could all do something small and change it around. Compliment each other, hold the door, greet and smile, or just even keep your mouth closed as to not offend as they aren’t you.
Somethings I can fix are… Dinner, dessert, the toilet, my spouses bad day, my messy closet, my happiness, and my lack of knowledge on a specific topic. I am thankful that everyone is different, because it makes life interesting. I feel like I am always learning something about people, cultures, and how I am unique. I may have a few things in life that are bringing me down, but there are so many great things going on as well. I used to be a super optimistic person like super happy go lucky! These days I am in general a happy person just more aware of things going on around me. I think when I didn’t know I just didn’t care, but that is a major point about being a girl.. We pretty much care about everything! or at least I do.
I am starting to wonder if this blog is going to even stay interesting enough for people to read. So here is your assignment. Send me an email from the Contact Us page. You can write not to reply or give permission and I will respect that. But ask questions and throw me some topics you want to hear my view on. I want to get into writing everyday and that’s why I started this. I just to know what your interested in hearing about.
By The Way: The answer to the title is with out the broken things there is no challenge to fix anything!
Thanks for reading 🙂
